Brevard County Let us tell you a bit about Brevard County. Where Is Brevard County? It is located on the Atlantic Ocean due east of Orlando, Florida. It is famous for its beautiful beaches. The 72 mile long coastline in Brevard is the longest in Florida. Two great rivers, the Indian River and the Banana River, run parallel to the Atlantic Ocean, separating the mainland from the barrier islands and the beach. Many of the parks feature swimming pools for the competitive or recreational swimmer. Oceanfront parks along Brevard’s beaches offer shower and restroom facilities, covered pavilions, playgrounds as well as lifeguards on a seasonal basis. Many parks have hiking trails and nature walks as well.
Obviously, Brevard County is best know for being the home of the John F. Kennedy Space Center, gateway to our country's space exploration program. Brevard is also becoming the center of technology for the Southeast and is home to companies like Harris, The United Space Alliance, Identitech, inetUSA and large facilities for companies such as Boeing, Johnson Controls, Grumman, General Electric and Intersil.
Often referred to by local residents as "the best kept secret in Florida", Brevard County's growth rate makes it obvious that our secret is no more.
